No timetable for Haden return

The Browns are hoping Joe Haden returns to the lineup after sitting last weekend with a groin strain.  Haden said there’s no timetable for his return, but “he’s feeling better and coming along.”  Cleveland visits Washington Sunday afternoon.

 

Cleveland loses 30-24 against Miami

Jay Ajayi scored on an 11-yard run with 8:26 left in overtime as Miami beat Cleveland 30-24.  Cody Parky missed three field goals for Cleveland, including a 46-yarder as time expired in regulation.  (0-3) Cleveland visits (1-2) Washington Sunday at 1.

 

Gordon’s hearing yesterday

Suspended Browns receiver Josh Gordon appeared at a hearing yesterday after a warrant was issued for his arrest for him failing to submit to a paternity test.  Attorneys for Gordon said “the matter was continued until November should a further hearing be needed.  A league spokesman said Gordon remains eligible to play in Cleveland’s game October 9 against New England.

 

Coleman fractures hand in practice

X-rays revealed that Browns rookie wide receiver Corey Coleman, the team’s first-round draft pick, fractured his hand in practice yesterday.  He is being evaluated to determine when he will return.

 

Browns finish preseason 0-4

The Browns finished the preseason at (0-4) after last night’s 21-7 loss to the Bears.  Cleveland QB Robert Griffin III completed 4-of-8 passes for 53 yards in three series.  The Browns kick off their season next Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

 

Browns release Kruger & cut others

The Browns released outside linebacker Paul Kruger yesterday.  Cleveland also cut kicker Travis Coons, quarterback Austin Davis, tight end E.J. Bibbs and suspended cornerback K’Waun Williams.
