The Division II All Ohio Girls Basketball Team has been announced and Buckeye Local’s Emily Holzopfel gathered third team honors, while Steubenville’s Makayla Abram earned honorable mention.
Boys high school basketball, No. 3 Zanesville beat 12th-seeded Indian Creek 58-23 in the Ohio Division II District Semifinals. Andy Waggoner and Austin Yaich both scored five points for the Redskins.
Meadowbrook topped Harrison Central 56-41 in the District Semifinals. Kobe Mitchell led the Huskies with 12 points.
Boys high school basketball, John Marshall beat Brooke 53-30 in the Triple-A sectional playoffs. Justin Pennybacker and Evan Cuomo both scored 7 points for the Bruins.

5th-seeded Toronto topped No. 6 Shenandoah 56-50 in the Division IV sectionals. Nate Karrafa scored 16 points and Nick Sninchak added 10 for the Red Knights. Toronto will play No. 4 Malvern Friday night.
9th-seeded Tuscarawas Central Catholic beat No. 8 Steubenville Catholic Central 48-36 in sectional play. A.J. Connor scored 12 points for the Crusaders.
