High school softball, Katie Gasvoda tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 as Madonna defeated Steubenville Catholic Central 15-0 in five innings. Gasvoda also drove in four runs for the Blue Dons, while teammate Maddie Daugherty had two RBI.

High school baseball, Madonna sent 26 batters to the dish in the first inning and scored 20 runs in that first frame to beat Hundred 34-0 in four and a half innings.  Mac Raymond and Tyler Wright both drove in six runs for the Blue Dons.

 

Girls Hoops, Blue Dons Advance In Postseason

Girls high school basketball, 4th-seeded Madonna beat No. 5 Hundred 78-15 in the West Virginia Single-A Section 1, Region 1 playoffs.  Kennedy Martin led Madonna with 13 points.  Kasey Canei finished with 12 points, while Gia Riccadona added 10 for the Blue Dons.  Madonna faces top-seeded Wheeling Central tonight at 8 at John Marshall Fieldhouse.  Second-seeded Cameron battles No. 3 Valley in the first session tonight at 6.

 

Riders Win City Title

Boys high school basketball, Weir High beat Madonna 68-57 to win the Weirton City Championship.  Keyshawn Faulks led the Red Riders with 29 points, while Jake McCoy added eight points and 11 rebounds.  Tony Sellitti led the Blue Dons with 18 points.

 

Madonna Falls In OVAC Semi

Cameron beat Madonna 73-48 in the Single-A semifinals.  Tony Sellitti led the Blue Dons with 18 points, Gavin Dietrich and Dom Mazur both had eight for Madonna.
