Shaw Leads Brewers Past Bucs

NBA Draft: Freshmen Go Top 5


With the first pick in the NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Washington guard Markelle Fultz.  The Lakers used the second pick on UCLA guard Lonzo Ball.  Duke forward Jayson Tatum went to Boston with the third pick.  Phoenix took Kansas forward Josh Jackson fourth and Kentucky guard De’Aaron Fox went to Sacramento with the fifth pick.


Pens Re-Sign Ruhwedel


The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to a two-year contract.  The deal runs through the 2018-19 season and has an average annual value of $650,000.  27-year-old Ruhwedel had 10 points (2 goals-8 assists) this past season.

Steubenville beat Richmond 5-1 in American Legion Baseball.  Nick Scott had and RBI single for Steubenville, while Gino Pierro singled and doubled…Ryan Bernard doubled.  Anthony Sinicropi had three singles for Richmond.


Santana Homer Leads Brew Crew

The Vegas Golden Knights selected former Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in the NHL’s expansion draft.  32-year-old Fleury has two years on his contract.


Cavs Offer Billups Front Office Job


The Cleveland Cavaliers have offered Chauncey Billups a long-term contract to be the president of basketball operations, but he is conflicted about accepting.  In the structure being offered, Billups would be able to hire an experienced GM to work with him.  Billups also interviewed for a front-office position with the Hawks.
