Girls high school basketball, North Marion beat Weir High 81-36 in the West Virginia Double-A Sectional tournament. Wheeling Central topped Madonna 57-30 in the Single-A Sectional playoffs.

Steelers’ linebacker Ryan Shazier said he plans to play football again. 25-year-old Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery December 6 and has been in a wheelchair, but is making progress in his rehab. He said all of his football goals are still in front of him.

Kasey Canei finished with 12 points, while Gia Riccadona added 10 for the Blue Dons. Madonna faces top-seeded Wheeling Central tonight at 8 at John Marshall Fieldhouse.
