This week’s Eastern Gateway Community College High School Athlete of the Week is Buckeye Local girls basketball player Emily Holzopfel. Emily scored 23 points in Panthers victory over Big Red, and 25 points to help Buckeye Local beat Edison.
Chris Boswell booted a 46-yard field goal with 42 seconds remaining to lift the Steelers past the Ravens 39-38. The (11-2) Steelers, who wrapped up the AFC North, host (10-2) New England Sunday afternoon at 4:25.
Brett Hundley threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams in overtime as the Packers rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to beat the Browns 27-24. (0-13) Cleveland hosts (7-6) Baltimore Sunday at 1 o’clock.
Mitchell Trubisky threw for a touchdown and ran for another as the Bears ended a five-game losing streak with a 33-7 victory over the Bengals.
Steubenville Catholic Central beat Bridgeport 50-43. Tia Taglione scored 17 points while Grace Godich added nine for the Crusaders.
Big Red picked up a win over Weir High 58-36. Makayla Abram had 21 points for Steubenville. Sophia Mikula scored 8 points for the Red Riders.
Valley topped Madonna 51-47. Jazzy Melnick scored 10 points for the Blue Dons.
Buckeye Local beat Edison 58-26. Emily Holzopfel scored 25 points and Alaire Destifanes had 17 for the Panthers.
Union Local downed Harrison Central 62-43. Sydney Starr scored 23 points for the Huskies.
United topped Toronto 62-39. Gina Fogle led the Red Knights with 14 points.
