Boys Hoop, Big Red Tops Edison


Boys high school basketball, Steubenville beat Edison 81-64.  Calvin Bickerstaff scored 12 points and Josh Zimmerman added 10 for Big Red.  Anthony Sinicroppi scored a game-high 20 points and Isaac Schmitz added 11 for the Wildcats.


Shazier Plans To Play Football Again


Steelers’ linebacker Ryan Shazier said he plans to play football again.  25-year-old Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery December 6 and has been in a wheelchair, but is making progress in his rehab.  He said all of his football goals are still in front of him.


Girls Hoops, Blue Dons Advance In Postseason


Girls high school basketball, 4th-seeded Madonna beat No. 5 Hundred 78-15 in the West Virginia Single-A Section 1, Region 1 playoffs.  Kennedy Martin led Madonna with 13 points.  Kasey Canei finished with 12 points, while Gia Riccadona added 10 for the Blue Dons.  Madonna faces top-seeded Wheeling Central tonight at 8 at John Marshall Fieldhouse.  Second-seeded Cameron battles No. 3 Valley in the first session tonight at 6.
