Veteran Football Coach Retires


Veteran Toronto football coach Eric Meek has retired.  Meek recently finished his eighth season of his second stint with the Red Knights.  Before returning to Toronto, coach Meek led Weir High and Wellsville to playoff appearances and won a state title with Weir High in 2005.


Dodgers Take 3-0 Lead


Yu Darvish pitched into the seventh inning and Chris Taylor homered to lead the Dodgers past the Cubs 6-1 to open a 3-0 lead in the NL Championship Series.  Game 4 is tonight at Wrigley Field at 9:08.  Alex Wood faces Jake Arrieta.


Wade Plans To Sign With Cleveland


Twelve-time NBA All-Star guard Dwyane Wade plans to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers once he clears waivers today.  Wade, who agreed to a contract buyout with the Bulls, will be an unrestricted free agent and will sign a one-year, $2.3 million veterans minimum deal to reunite with LeBron James.


Browns Release Joe Haden


The Cleveland Browns released two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden.  Coach Hue Jackson said he wanted Haden on his defense, but deferred to Sashi Brown, the team’s top front-office executive, to make decisions that help the Browns.  28-year-old Haden has played in only 18 games over the past two seasons because of injuries.


J-Hay Wins Thriller For Bucs


Dodgers lefty Rich Hill lost his perfect game on an error in the ninth, then lost his no-hitter on a leadoff home run in the 10th by Josh Harrison that sent the Pirates over the Dodgers 1-0.  The Bucs remain 8 games back in the NL Central.  Pittsburgh wraps up its series with LA this afternoon at 4:05.  (6-8) Chad Kuhl faces (4-6) Hyun-Jin Ryu.  Join the OVSN at 3:40 for the pregame.
